Hi friends! I’m Liz - the baker behind Cup of Ambition. I’m a lawyer by trade (yawn), but my passion and creativity have always been channeled through baking.
I’m completely self-taught (no culinary degrees here), which means I f*ck up ALL the time. But I strongly believe that mistakes are part of the learning process - and sometimes you even end up with happy little accidents that are even better than what you originally planned. After all, you can’t take baking too seriously - where’s the fun in that?

I’m Puerto Rican but was raised in Idaho, which was...complicated. Props to my parents for instilling me with a strong sense of cultural pride. 🇵🇷
I’m a Dolly Parton fan 🤠 The name of this blog is a nod to one of her songs “9 to 5”.

I’m first generation in my family to graduate from college. My parents had to drop out of college to support our family, but they always emphasized the importance of education and now me and my two brothers have a JD, PHD and MBA between the three of us. 🤓🤓🤓

I moved from Idaho to NYC and still managed to become a farmer. 🤷🏽♀️ I have a mini balcony garden growing zucchini, carrots, tomatoes, etc. Gardening grounds me and teaches me patience - which I definitely need more of.
